Treatments

If you’re sure that you or a member of your family has a head lice infestation, there are different ways of treating it. There is a wide range of Lyclear products available to choose from, either with or without insecticides. Insecticides (also known as pesticides) use chemicals to kill head lice. Lyclear Creme Rinse contains an active ingredient called permethrin, which kills head lice and can even penetrate and kill their eggs. Insecticides are available from your pharmacist. Always read the label. You may have heard that it's possible for head lice to build up a resistance to insecticides in certain areas; however they are usually an effective treatment.

Non–insecticides don’t use chemicals, but instead kill the headlice by blocking their breathing holes (spiracles) and suffocating them. Lyclear’s double action formula suffocates and dehydrates the lice and eggs. Lyclear is available in three easy to use formats: new Lyclear Treatment Shampoo, Lyclear Spray and Lyclear Mousse. Non–insecticides are available from pharmacies and supermarkets, and don’t cause resistance because they don’t contain chemical.
